Brien J. Nagle and Rebecca Boyd-Obarski, partners of Nagle Obarski PC, recently announced the association of Ian S. Holzhauer with the firm.
A Naperville native and 2001 graduate of Naperville North High School, Holzhauer received a full academic scholarship from the University of Florida, and graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in History. He then earned his J.D., magna cum laude from Georgetown University in 2007, where he is a member of the Order of the Coif, having graduated in the top 4 percent of his class at Georgetown.
After being admitted to the Illinois bar, Holzhauer served as a uniformed attorney in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s (J.A.G.) Corps from 2007 until 2014. As a J.A.G., then-Captain Holzhauer served as trial or defense counsel in more than 30 courts-martial. He also provided guidance as in-house counsel to the Air Force, and prepared hundreds of estate planning documents for deploying service members, military families, and retirees around the world.
Holzhauer served in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and received numerous accolades, including the Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal, second oak leaf cluster. He served tours in Guam, the Caribbean, North Dakota, and Ohio, and performed duties in Hawaii, Japan, South Korea, and throughout the U.S. as well.

Holzhauer is married and father of three children.
