Family Fun Friday Night: Brightside Theatre Project Get ready for Brightside’s spring show, Disney’s Aladdin, with theater games, songs, and activities. Family Fun Friday Nights are designed to give busy families the opportunity to enjoy extended hours on Friday evenings. The Museum is open until 8PM, with a special performance or activity on most Friday nights. Free with Museum membership or admission.

Experience two of the darkest nights of the year with haunting creatures, eerie entertainment and must-see horrors. This one-of-a-kind experience brings some of the scariest literature of the past, present and future to life. Not recommended for children under 8 years old. Dogfest Walk ‘N Roll – 10AM | Fundraising for donations in encouraged

Grab a leash and be part of Canine Companions DogFest Walk ‘n Roll! It’s a community dog walk that supports the mission of Canine Companions for Independence. Put together a team of friends, family members and coworkers. Then fundraise to earn a cool DogFest prize. If you raise $100, you’ll get a DogFest bandana to sport at DogFest. Then come to DogFest for a tail-waggin’ good time!

Fall Fest & Clothing Closet – 10AM | Free

We welcome all families to come join us for our annual Fall Fest! There will be lots of fun, fall-themed games and activities for the kids as well as popcorn, cotton candy, and a hot dog lunch provided (optional donation). Children can dress in costumes if they would like, but they are also welcome to come as they are. In addition to the Fall Fest activities we will have a separate area set up to provide gently used clothing, Halloween costumes, winter wear, shoes, books, and toys to those who are in need (free of charge). Trick or Treat – 10AM | 1 nonperishable food item plus $1 per child

Naperville Junior Woman’s Club is hosting its Annual Trick or Treat at Safety Town from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 18. This event offers an opportunity for children ages 2-10 to enjoy the fun and friendship of trick or treating in a safe environment. A short lesson on safe trick or treating will be taught to the children before touring the town. All children who attend should be dressed in Halloween costumes and ready to have a good time while learning. The cost is $1 per child, plus at least one non-perishable food donation for Loaves and Fishes Community Pantry in Naperville. Safety Town’s Annual Trick or Treat event is a cooperative effort between the Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, local corporate sponsors and teen volunteers. Safety Town is located at 1320 Aurora Ave. at River Road on the campus with the Naperville Police and Fire Departments. www.napervillejuniors.org.

Bike Bald – “Tweed Ride” – 11AM | $5-$20

The Naperville Vintage ‘Tweed Ride’ will give riders the chance to ride in the era of the 1920’s…Penny Farth riders, Raleigh bike clubs and so much more. This ride will encourage those that participate to dress in the era where women wore hats, stockings, vintage dresses, tweed jackets and maybe a pair of dress vintage gloves while the men were fine gentlemen a handle bar mustache, tweed jacket and trousers to match leather messenger bags and an array of leather shoes, pipes, glasses & hats. Children are encouraged to join the ride.  The ride will start the ride from behind the Naper Settlement – District 203 parking lot. The ride travels through town making its way to the Dupage River Bike Trail to Knoch Knolls park…A simple stop along the way to Dorothea Weigand park for a bit of afternoon tea in the park, fresh popcorn, a barber shop quartet, musicians etc.. The journey continues to Knoch Knolls Park Nature Center, a bonfire, a vintage Kodak moment for all to enjoy. A tantalizing assortment of tasty foods and desserts created by 25 of the area’s most admired restaurants and food purveyors will be on the menu during this popular family event that helps to prevent hunger and homelessness locally. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Naperville, the seventh annual Soup’s On! fundraiser will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, at Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Avenue. Children will be captivated by activities sponsored by the DuPage Children’s Museum, while guests of all ages will enjoy musical entertainment by award-winning high school choral groups. A silent auction will be held. Proceeds will benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Services, Hesed House, DuPage PADS, and The Rotary Club of Naperville Charities. Tickets can be purchased online at www.SoupsOnRotary.com. Tickets are $45 for adults; seniors (65+) and military, $35; children 6-12, $10; children 5 and under are free. Football coverage also will be available for sports fans.

Naperville Area CROP Hunger Walk – 1PM | Free

This annual 5K Walk raises awareness and funds to support local and global efforts to alleviate hunger. All ages are welcome to join us as we walk in solidarity with those who daily struggle to obtain life’s basic necessities.
