March is a month all about potential — the potential for change, progress and fun! Here at the Fry Family YMCA, spring is more than warming weather and blooming flowers. We’re looking forward to a season filled with opportunities for growth of all kinds, through learning, economic development, health and wellbeing, and so much more!
This month, we’re proudly partnering with the State of Illinois to deliver the Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program at the Fry Family Y. We’re currently recruiting for our Spring 2024 cohort, members of which will gain important skills in preparation to qualify for certified apprenticeship programs in construction trades.
Participation in the 12-week cohort includes classroom training in core construction curriculum in the evenings and on Saturdays, hands-on learning at construction sites, a stipend for successful completion of the program, and a range of supports to help participants transition into apprenticeship programs. Plus, spring is the season where we officially start prepping for summer Day Camp at the Y! Fry Family Y Day Camp is an experience like no other. We put the Power of Play at the center of everything we do, empowering Naperville youth to do mighty things: stretch their imaginations, flex their creativity muscles, learn new and extraordinary skills, conquer the toughest of challenges, and, of course, play until the last whistle blows.
So get excited because Day Camp registration for Fry Family Y members is now open, and registration for the general community opens soon on March 15. With our wide variety of camp options, your youth has the ability to explore whatever their heart desires! Whether they’re a budding entrepreneur, aspiring chef, top athlete, or superhero-in-training, we have a Day Camp to help unlock all of their potential. Ready to kick off a summer to remember? While campers are taking part in unique experiences and adventures, our counselors are making their own memories while they develop leadership skills and confidence — and get paid to have fun. We’re currently recruiting for summer 2024 Day Camp counselors!
