The City of Naperville’s annual Arbor Day Tree Sale will take place online for a four-week period beginning March 20. The sale link will open at 8AM on Monday, March 20 and will close at 5PM on Friday, April 14 or when all trees are sold, whichever comes first. A drive-thru tree pickup will take place from 8AM to 1PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Public Works Service Center, located at 180 Fort Hill Drive.
Customers will be able to select from 34 different species of container-grown trees costing between $25 and $60 for use in beautifying their yards and sustaining the environment. A total of 381 trees are available for purchase, including various maples, oaks and elms.
How to Place a Tree Order
All orders must be placed online at www.naperville.il.us/arbordaytreesale. Trees are categorized by price, and residents may purchase multiple tree types through PayPal in one transaction. Once an online order is complete, shoppers will be directed to use an online calendar to schedule a time to pick up their tree(s) on Saturday, April 22 at the Public Works Service Center. For the safety of all, participants will be asked to stay in their vehicles while City staff members load the trees into vehicles during their pre-scheduled pickup timeslot. Customers will be limited to six trees. All tree sales are final, and trees must be picked up on April 22. Payment will be forfeited for trees that are not picked up on April 22 and no refunds will be given.
Rain Barrel Pickup Event
The City, in partnership with the Conservation Foundation and Upcycle Products, continues to promote using rain barrels as a free irrigation option.
Back again this year, rain barrel purchases received by mail-in form by April 14 or online before April 16 may be picked up during the tree sale drive-thru from 8AM to 1PM on Saturday, April 22 at the Public Works Service Center. A portion of rain barrel sales will be donated to the Conservation Foundation. Rain barrel orders must be placed at https://upcycle-products.com/il-programs/nprv/.
“The annual Arbor Day Tree Sale is a long-standing tradition that honors the City’s continued commitment to sustainability,” said Naperville Sustainability Coordinator Ben Mjolsness. “Raising awareness about the importance of trees and rain barrels and encouraging residents to take action to improve the environment will help to ensure a better Naperville for future generations.”
