Go Fish! Whalon Lake, located south of Royce Road, is part of the Will County Forest Preserve District. The popular park protects a diversity of habitats, including prairie, wetland, an 80-acre lake and a portion of the DuPage River. Enjoy picnicking and biking, too.
Summer Place Theatre presents ‘The Sound of Music’ / 7:30PM / The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein beloved story of the Von Trapp family. The performances run Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning July 15 through July 31 at the Naperville Central Auditorium, 440 Aurora Ave. Friday and Saturday times are 7:30PM. Lustgarten Foundation Naperville Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk / 8:30AM / The walk is to raise funds and awareness for the third-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. Registration check-in begins at 8:30AM. The event kicks off at 9:45AM Sun., July 17, at the Naperville Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 500 W. Jackson Street. Individuals and teams are welcome. Pets on leashes also are welcome. Concerts in Your Parks / 7-8:30PM / Nashville Electric Company will perform country, bluegrass and rockability at Century Farms, 715 Sigmund Road, from 7 to 8:30PM Sun., July 17.
