Downtown Naperville Sizzlin’ Summer Sidewalk Sales / 10AM-dusk, runs thru Sunday / Downtown businesses will be “taking it to the streets” with the annual Summer Sizzlin’ Sidewalk Sales. Naper Nights Concert Series / 5-10 PM Friday, July 15 & Saturday, July 16 / Get ready for cold drinks, great food, and fabulous music. Naper Nights continues July 15 with a Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute by Red NOT Chili Peppers and a Blink-182 tribute by Blink-180TRUE. July 16 will include a tribute to Pearl Jam by The Ten Band and a tribute to Nirvana by Smells Like Nirvana. $20/adult (13+), $15/youth (4-12). Go Fish! Whalon Lake, located south of Royce Road, is part of the Will County Forest Preserve District. The popular park protects a diversity of habitats, including prairie, wetland, an 80-acre lake and a portion of the DuPage River. Enjoy picnicking and biking, too.

Summer Place Theatre presents ‘The Sound of Music’ / 7:30PM / The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein beloved story of the Von Trapp family. The performances run Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning July 15 through July 31 at the Naperville Central Auditorium, 440 Aurora Ave. Friday and Saturday times are 7:30PM. Sunday matinee is at 3PM. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults (19-64) $20.00; Seniors (65 and older) $15.00; Youth (18 & younger) $15.00. Individuals, teams and dogs on a leash are welcome to join the walk and help raise funds of Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Lustgarten Foundation Naperville Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk / 8:30AM / The walk is to raise funds and awareness for the third-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. Registration check-in begins at 8:30AM. The event kicks off at 9:45AM Sun., July 17, at the Naperville Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 500 W. Jackson Street. Individuals and teams are welcome. Pets on leashes also are welcome. Concerts in Your Parks / 7-8:30PM / Nashville Electric Company will perform country, bluegrass and rockability at Century Farms, 715 Sigmund Road, from 7 to 8:30PM Sun., July 17. Concerts in Your Park is a Sunday evening summer music series for families and neighbors; each concert is held at a different neighborhood park. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for a FREE evening of outdoor musical entertainment with family, friends and neighbors.
