Naperville Gardener – November’s Book of the Month, Cup of Cheer™ House Walk, and Holiday Market and Tea

-

Discover “Christmas Classics” by Florists’ Review. Featuring more than a hundred photos, this book will inspire you to make a new wreath for your front door, update the centerpiece on your dining room table and make this holiday the best looking one ever. Step-by-step instructions will help you become an amazing floral designer. Give it a try!

You’re also invited to our November 17 meeting of the Naperville Garden Club, when a floral designer will show us how to create holiday decorations for our homes. Reservation details are on our website, napervillegardenclub.org, due November 3.

Naperville Garden Club members always have Christmas on our minds and it shows in our major fundraiser, the Cup of Cheer™ House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea, held from 9AM to 4PM Thurs., Dec. 2, and Fri., Dec. 3.

Our Chairman, Gwenn Lloyd, has selected four fabulous homes to be featured on the House Walk. She also oversees our workshop—purchasing materials for our members to transform into creative, beautiful and sometimes useful works of art. You will be able to purchase these at the Holiday Market and Tea at the VFW on Jackson Ave. Our raffle prizes are terrific, too.

The Holiday Market will be open to the public (without a ticket) from noon to 4PM on Fri., Dec. 3. Our members compete with each other to bake the best cookies for you to enjoy as you relax between touring the homes, shopping the Holiday Market and buying raffle tickets. Be sure to look for the display to see which cookies placed in the top ten!

Tickets are available at Nona Jo’s (Mill and 5th Ave; both Oxford Bank locations (75th and Book, 59 and 83rd) and The Growing Place on Plank Road. Tickets also can be purchased through PayPal or on our website, napervillegardenclub.org. Thursday tickets are $55 (guaranteed no waiting in line) and Friday tickets are $40.

The 2021 souvenir teacup and saucer has a cardinal design.

We look forward to seeing you and getting the holiday started.
