-

Above / While searching files for a Downtown Naperville Sidewalk Sale photo, Dean’s big tent surfaced from 2009. When we stopped by Dean’s Fine Clothing Wednesday for an update, Greg DeGeeter said his parking lot is now empty, ready for the tent to go up at the corner of Main at Jackson streets. While visiting the men’s department, be sure to ask Mark Rusk about the high wire acts and elephants he promised under the big top!

Create a destination day to Downtown Naperville, complete with a Thursday night band concert in Central Park

The Naperville Municipal Band is set to perform under the direction of Assistant Conductor René Rosas beginning at 7:30PM Thurs., July 8, in Central Park. Concerts are free of admission charge. Everybody’s welcome.

This week’s Bake Sale in the Gazebo will be hosted by Naperville Area Humane Society.

The big stage door with the Century Walk mural, “The Great Concerto,” goes up on “Another Opening, Another Show,” at 7:30PM every Thursday through Aug. 19, in Central Park.

Central Park is just steps from shopping and dining in downtown Naperville. As some folks say, “Central Park is behind Quigley’s Irish Pub and US Bank.”

Pick up dinner-to-go for a picnic in the park, bring a blanket or collapsible chair or stake out place on a park bench.

Note also the NMB is scheduled to play every Thursday evening through August 19.

Looking for a staycation idea?

Walk this way along Main Street and over the Main Street Bridge to Water Street, home of the Hotel Indigo.

Plan a Staycation for a day, weekend or week this summer at the Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk, a place enhanced by local activities and attractions beginning along Main Street at Water Street.

Downtown businesses and Hotel Indigo are focused to maintain a safe and clean environment with a warm welcome for everyone.

The Civic Plaza provides a gathering place to pause and reflect while listening to the sparkling flow of the Dandelion Fountain. On Labor Day weekend, the Riverwalk will begin its 40th year as the city’s natural treasure.
The Dandelion Fountain along the winding brick path of the Riverwalk leads to the Webster Street Covered Bridge over the DuPage River toward Hotel Indigo and Naper Settlement. Located in the heart of the central business district just steps from dining and shopping, the Riverwalk is another popular attraction in downtown Naperville.
