Fire Prevention 24-7 – Safety Town is on!

-

To follow health and safety guidelines this summer, Safety Town has decided to change the summer program to a one- day 3-hour camp for incoming kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. Throughout the 3-hour session, games, songs, and videos reinforce the skills being taught. By using a hands-on approach, children absorb important information and have fun at the same time.

The Naperville Police and Fire Departments, Animal Control, and other community groups help teach safety awareness and prevention during the session time. The program teaches personal safety, home safety, vehicle safety, fire safety, and safety in your environment. During the session, the children have the opportunity to make practice 911 calls, participate in fire evacuation drills, and practice pedestrian safety as they ride Safety Town vehicles on the streets of Safety Town.

Each session will only have a total of 20 students to ensure 6 feet of physical distance at all times. Everyone who enters Safety Town is required to wear a mask at all times and to hand sanitize upon entry. Windows will be open and air purifiers in the classroom will be on to ensure clean air flow. Cleaning of high-touched surfaces and bikes will take place between each session.

Online registration for the 2021 In-Person Summer Program will begin at 6PM on April 16, 2021. The early bird price of $55 per child will expire May 14, 2021. After May 14, 2021, the price will be raised to $70 per child. If your child has previously attended Safety Town, please consider our virtual option listed below to leave spots for new students to join in-person due to limited capacity.

Disclaimer: Each session may have different community workers present (Police, Firefighters, electrician, etc.) due to their availably and emergencies.

For 2021, Safety Town also will be offering a virtual summer program for youngsters who cannot attend the in-person summer program. These will be videos put together by Safety Town instructors and community workers that will bring the summer program curriculum to your house as much as possible.

Online registration for the 2021 Virtual Summer Program will begin at 6PM on April 16, 2021. The price will be $25 for access to these videos.
