Catch a glimpse of Santa at Naper Lights on Friday and Saturday nights

-

Just steps from Webster at Water streets, Santa is expected to visit the “Great Tree” in Jaycees Park for free socially-distant photo opportunities at Naper Lights in downtown Naperville.

UPDATE! Jolly Old St. Nicholas made it for the first evening of greeting all ages by the Great Tree at Naper Lights. He ho-ho-hopes to return from 6 to 8PM Fridays and Saturdays as well as the Wednesday before Christmas.

Although it’s a busy time of year, Santa couldn’t miss the chance to see all the boys and girls in Naperville and visit Downtown Naperville during Naper Lights on Water Street, emailed organizers from the Rotary Club of Naperville-Sunrise.

The jolly old elf will be visiting Naper Lights for photos on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6-8PM, December 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19, as well as Wednesday evening December 23, 2020, all weather permitting.

The Great Tree is just steps from Webster and Water streets, alongside the Naperville Municipal Building.

Find Santa standing in front of the Great Tree in Jaycees Park at the corner of Water Street and Webster, just off the Riverwalk to pose for photos. Santa will be wearing a mask and a lighted barrier will keep him 6 feet from visitors.

“With Santa waving in the background, families can snap photos of their children to remember this very special holiday season, safely and confidently at no charge,” stated Geoff Roehll, Naper Lights Chairman for The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise. “We hope everyone will enjoy the free light display and shop and order takeout meals from our many Water Street and Downtown Naperville stores and restaurants throughout the holiday season.”

Visitors are reminded to wear masks and remain 6-feet from others while waiting for their turn with Santa. No tickets are required and the photo op is free of charge.

Visitors can also interact with the “Singing Tree” in the center of Jaycees Park, by clapping, humming, singing, tapping or calling while the tree lights will play along. In addition, weekend volunteers will be offering the popular holographic viewing glasses to children while supplies last.  Donations are welcomed to support Sunrise Rotary’s local and international charitable activities.

In early November, Sunrise Rotarians welcomed more than 110 high school volunteers, many members of local Rotary Interact Clubs. Their assistance allowed Rotarians to set up the light display in record time as it expanded this year beyond Water Street to Jaycees Park.

Enjoy sights and sounds of the holiday season during NaperLights every evening after dark. Santa will be present on Friday and Saturday evenings until Christmas.

Naper Lights is a gift to the community from The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise and is sponsored in part by Water Street, Marquette Companies and Century 21 Affiliated Ryan Hill Group, as well as through a City of Naperville SECA grant. The Great Tree is sponsored by Gerald Subaru. Installation assistance is provided by IBEW Local 701 and Power Forward DuPage.

The light display will remain on Water Street through the first week of January 2021.
