Bargain hunters: mark your calendars for June 7-8, when the biggest and best garage sale in Naperville takes place. The 22nd annual MEGA Garage Sale will take place at the Celebration Community Life Center, 919 S. Washington Street, Naperville, on Friday, June 7, from 8AM to 7PM, and on Saturday, June 8 Half-Price Day from 8:00AM to noon. The garage sale an initiative of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Naperville will include toys, books, clothes, housewares, electronics, furniture, art work, jewelry, and a variety of other quality, gently used items. Proceeds from the garage sale will support hunger initiatives, mental health programs, global missions, and a range of community organizations. Last year, the MEGA Garage Sale benefited 14 local and global organizations, including Loaves & Fishes, Feed My Starving Children, a school in Haiti, Holy Family School in Chicago, Alive Center, and Lutheran Social Services of Illinois mental health services. The Summer Place, Naperville’s community theatre, is proud to to present ‘South Pacific,’ the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. James Michner’s novel inspired this tale of gender roles, prejudice and love and remains musically enthralling, emotionally gripping, and culturally relevant. North Central College 154th Commencement  – 10AM (Doors open at 8:30AM / Folks were in line at 7AM!)

Congratulations, Graduates & Families! More than 800 graduates of North Central College’s Class of 2019 will receive degrees. The 154th Commencement will include graduates from 23 different states and 25 different countries representing 75 different majors as well as 10 military veterans. Processional will begin at 9:40AM, followed by the Commencement Ceremony at 10AM. The Commencement speech will be delivered by Jim Williams, news anchor and reporter, CBS 2 Chicago. North Central College President Troy D. Hammond and other College faculty and staff will address the graduating students. (Remote viewing area will be at Wentz Concert Hall in the North Central College Fine and Performing Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.) The public is welcome to join parents, families and friends of graduates.

Casey’s Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Add a dollar and get chips and a drink. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.

Naperville Municipal Band Concerts & Y Family Movies Nights in Central Park

Naperville Municipal Band celebrates its 160th year during its annual summer concert series Thursday evenings through Aug. 15, 2019. Strike up the band that’s been here quite some time!

YMCA presents it outdoor family summer movie series in Central Park. Admission is free of charge.

First up, “Ralph Breaks the Internet” will be shown at dusk Fri., June 14. “Captain America the First Avenger” follows on Fri., July 5. Then it’s “Sweet Life of Pete” on Sat., July 27, “Incredibles 2” on Fri., Aug. 9, and “Aquaman” on Fri., Aug. 23.
