2019 Ronald J. Keller Scholarship Winner – Daniel Wilczynski

-

The Ronald J. Keller Music Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that Daniel Wilczynski was selected as the 2019 recipient of the second annual Ronald J. Keller Music Scholarship. The scholarship award is $2,500. Daniel recently graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School and plans to study music education at college this fall.

As a student in the Guided Practice program at Waubonsie, Daniel has spent time working with middle school students as a private lesson teacher. According to Mark Duker, WVHS Fine Arts Department Chair, “Daniel’s musicianship, leadership, work ethic, generosity towards other, and positive attitude are valued as highly as any student I have taught in my 25 years of teaching.”

Duker said Daniel is an exceptional clarinetist, involved in all aspects of Waubonsie’s music program including multiple bands, symphony orchestra and choir. Plus, the devoted musician plays in the Elgin Youth Symphony.
The music scholarship committee agreed, confident that Daniel has all of the qualities essential for becoming an outstanding music educator.

NMB Director Ron Keller expressed his appreciation for the glowing recommendation Daniel received from Duker.

“The recommendation really set Daniel apart from the other very qualified students who applied,” Keller said.

The scholarship will be presented to Daniel at the Naperville Municipal Band concert at 7:30PM on June 6, 2019, in Central Park, Naperville.
