This composition was inspired by the last music manuscript left behind from her late father, a professor of classical music. Yang’s father was her mentor and teacher in music. Yang lost her right to visit her family in China due to her persistence in commemorating the Tiananmen June 4 with music. The internationally acclaimed Chinese British novelist Mr. Ma Jian will read from his novel Beijing Coma, Naperville resident Barbara Blomquist, a contributing columnist to Positively Naperville, will provide a dramatic English interpretation. Mr. Fang Zheng, a former student from Beijing, a survivor of Tiananmen Square will also speak. Donations will be gladly accepted in advance or at the door. Without sponsorship or funding from any government agencies this concert relies solely upon public donations. Thanks. Arrive at 4:30PM for concert to begin at 4:40PM.
