Call for Artists! Naperville Public Art Competition deadline is extended to March 13

Naperville-area artists are invited to participate in Naperville Art League’s 16th annual Public Art Competition, set to run March 19 through April 13, 2019, at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery. 

Artists are welcome to submit one entry per person under the theme “Real Surreal.” The piece must be original in design, concept, and execution. It can be any media or mixed-media, and either 2D or 3D. Size restrictions apply.

Deadline for submissions has been extended to March 13, 2019. Cash prizes will be awarded. The contest entry form is available on the League’s website at Napervilleartleague.com or a copy may be picked up at the Naperville Fine Art Center, 508 N. Center Street at Fifth Avenue, just east of Washington Street.

Artists’ Reception & Awards Presentation set for March 24

An artists’ reception and awards presentation will be held from 2 to 4PM Sunday, March 24, at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery.

Awards for entries in two age categories

Two age categories for entries are high school/college age and adult. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($350) and Awards of Excellence ($100). Honorable Mentions will win ribbons. The entry fee is $25 for non-members and $15 for Naperville Art League members. Entries must be accompanied by an artist’s statement (100 words maximum).

NAL hosts food drive for Loaves & Fishes Community Services

Along with the show, Naperville Art League is hosting a food drive to benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Services. Loaves & Fishes Community Services provides food and services to over 2,700 Naperville and DuPage County families each month. 

Non-perishable food items may be brought to the Gallery throughout the show.

Gallery hours are 10AM to 5PM Tuesday through Friday and 10AM to 4PM on Saturday.

Naperville Art League is a nonprofit organization that provides art instruction and education, encourages all forms of creative art, and works to stimulate understanding and appreciation of art in the community.
