Pulse of Naperville Music Scene – Bill Idol to headline Ribfest July 3

-

Naperville Exchange Club’s Ribfest event has always been a special time for me and my family. We only went to one Ribfest before moving to Naperville, but it inspired us to be closer to this wonderful city. So, aside from the superior school system and the beautiful homes, Ribfest was something that factored into our decision to reside in Naperville. The fact that it was (and still is, of course) a fundraiser for charity was something that spoke volumes to us about the city. The event was the proverbial “cherry on top” of a delicious city called Naperville.

In the past 17 years, I can safely say that I have attended Ribfest just about every year. Taking the kids as toddlers and as teens are memories I cherish. With the news of Ribfest moving out of Knoch Park, and out of Naperville, it does seem like the end of an era. But, the Naperville Exchange Club will continue to raise funds for charity, with Ribfest being held in another nearby location. I have no doubt whatsoever that the 2020 Ribfest will be the beginning of a new era, and host to another stockpile of precious memories.

In celebration of Ribfest’s last year at Knoch Park, it has just been announced that rock legend Billy Idol will kick things off on July 3! The last time I saw Billy Idol was in 1990, and it was one of the very first concerts that Barbara and I saw together. I can’t wait for all of us to rock again at Knoch Park!

Tickets are available now at www.ribfest.net.
