Some people can blend in, even when they were meant to stand out. Some people have special talents and interests that vary from their peer group. Some of them can embrace the individuality in themselves and stand out. And it’s time we all learned to stand out.
I love to read. When I was younger, I read Harry Potter books cover to cover in just one day. And those characters almost all had one thing in common. They learned who they were, and then embraced it. That is the key to their having a happy ending.
The library is a great place to discover what grabs your interest. Books have a variety of different topics. In one, Sherlock and Watson could be solving a scandal in Bohemia, and in another, Harry Potter is flying on a broomstick with his friends. If you still wonder the time-old question of “Who am I?” then a visit to the library is right for you.
I decided to visit all three Naperville libraries. While I was off looking at them, I said to myself, “Wow! This is great!” over and over again.
Out of all three of them, I believe that the best library is the Nichols Library in downtown Naperville. It felt large and spacious and was well organized. The 95th Street Library was second. It was modern and well stocked. And, because there has to be a place not as great, the Naper Boulevard Library has to take it. It was cramped, and not that well organized. However, it wasn’t that bad.
So, I believe that the Nichols Library is the best library.
Thank you for reading my first column. Now that you’ve heard my opinion on the libraries and have learned a bit about me, I’ll have to tell you more next month because my editor limits my word count.
