NAL calls for artists to compete in public art contest

Above / Naperville Art League (NAL) welcomes local artists to enter 15th Annual Public Art Competition by March 24, 2018. NAL is located at 508 W. Center Street at Fifth Avenue.

Naperville-area artists are invited to participate for cash prizes in Naperville Art League’s 15th annual Public Art Competition. Artists from the community are invited to submit one entry per person under the theme “Hidden Detail.”  The piece must be original in design, concept, and execution. It can be any media or mixed-media, and either 2D or 3D. Size restrictions apply. Deadline for submissions is March 24, 2018.

The show will run April 10 through 28 at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. Center St., Naperville 60563.

Artists’ Reception planned April 15

An artists’ reception and awards presentation will be held from 2 to 4PM Sun., April 15, at the Gallery.

Two age categories for entries are high school/college age and adults. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($350) and Awards of Excellence ($100). Honorable Mentions will win ribbons. The entry fee is $15 for non-members and $10 for Naperville Art League members. Entries must be accompanied by an artist’s statement.

Food drive for Loaves & Fishes, too!

Along with the show, Naperville Art League is hosting a food drive to benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Services. Non-perishable food items may be brought to the Gallery throughout the show. Gallery hours are 10AM to 5PM Tuesday through Friday and 10AM to 4PM on Saturday.

Naperville Art League is a nonprofit organization that provides art instruction and education, encourages all forms of creative art, and works to stimulate understanding and appreciation of art in the community.
