As of 5PM, snow removal operations continue throughout the City with 22 large trucks clearing neighborhood streets curb-to-curb and salting. In addition, 47 contractors remain active clearing cul-de-sacs and courts. These operations are expected to continue until approximately 10:30PM.
Residents are reminded to clear the sidewalks adjacent to their property to ensure safe passage by schoolchildren and pedestrians. Also remember to clear a three-foot perimeter around fire hydrants to ensure accessibility in the event of an emergency.
Public Works crews will begin removing piles of snow from the Downtown area overnight and clear both train depots, surrounding sidewalks and parking lots in preparation for tomorrow morning’s commute. Commuters are advised that not all snow piles will be removed from the train station parking lots, which may reduce the number of daily fee parking spaces available on Monday.
