(Naperville, IL – July 31, 2017) – For the ninth year in a row, the Edward Foundation set a new record — $462,000 – for funds raised at its annual Charity Golf Tournament. More than 320 golfers took part in the 24th annual event on July 17 at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont.
They donated funds through sponsorships, donations, raffles, games and the purchase of tournament contest bracelets.
Otis Wilson, former Chicago Bears linebacker, was the celebrity guest.
The winning team on Cog Hill’s Dubsdread course included Jim Cavanaugh, Chris Maul, George Parr and Rick Schweiger. The winning team on Cog Hill’s Course #1 and #3 included Pat Crowley, Erin Finnegan, Tom Giroux and Tyler Stanley.
The event featured a Helicopter Ball Drop in which entrants paid for a chance to have a numbered golf ball dropped from a helicopter and land closest to the flag. The winner was Joe Vozar of Naperville.
