Pending weather or unforeseen circumstances, Will County Division of Transportation-led work to expand the intersection at 95th Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road is scheduled to begin the week of April 3, 2017. To accommodate construction, the intersection will be reduced from two lanes to one lane of traffic in each direction through approximately mid-November.
This project will include the construction of double left turn lanes on the north and south legs of the intersection and new right turn lanes on the north and east legs of the intersection. The work will also include the widening of the bridge over Spring Brook, the extension of the noise wall along 95th Street to Plainfield-Naperville Road, upgraded street lighting and traffic signal improvements.
Expect delays, plan alternate routes through mid-November
Throughout construction, there will be full-time lane closures restricting traffic from two lanes to one lane in each direction on both 95th Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road at the intersection.
Motorists should expect significant delays in this area and find alternate routes or allow extra travel time to reach their destination.
Project updates and information on this work will be posted when practical at www.naperville.il.us/95thplainfieldnaperville.
