The Naperville Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are teaming up to host a victim services information fair from 10AM to 2PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, three million Americans are victims of violence each year. Designed to raise awareness about crime victims’ rights and services, the information fair will be held at North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. in Naperville.

The public is welcome.

“This is such an important initiative because we want victims to know that they are not alone, especially in this community,” said Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall. “We want to empower people to know their rights as victims and help connect them to the multitude of services available to them locally, regionally and nationally.”

“The FBI is dedicated to providing services to ensure victims are identified, notified of the rights to which they are entitled, and given the assistance to help cope with the impact of the crime,” said FBI Chicago Special Agent in Charge Michael Anderson.

Participating organizations include the Victim Service Units and Children Advocacy Centers of both DuPage and Will counties, Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Adult Protective Services, Mutual Ground, Family Shelter Service, National Alliance for Mental Illness, and many, many more.

Attendees will also be able to gather resources from such agencies as the Federal Trade Commission, IRS and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, among others.
