Community television lives up to its promise only if the community gets involved.
For almost three decades, NCTV17 has been giving the community an opportunity to see themselves on television during our coverage of the many events happening around town, including parades, band concerts, memorials, etc. Now, as part of a new volunteer program called “Community Crew,” the station is giving residents an opportunity to get behind the camera for some of those very same events.
Community Crew allows Naperville residents to work as camera operators alongside NCTV17’s professional crew to create programming that spotlights what makes Naperville one of a kind.
Led by the Operations Supervisor, Carl Schultz, NCTV17 will offer up to ten Naperville residents over the age of 18 the opportunity to volunteer to learn a new skill and be part of the volunteer camera crew. Previous video experience is a plus, but not required.
Once selected for the program, volunteers will receive training, first on studio production and then on field production. Interested residents can apply at www.nctv17.com/about-us/community-crew/ by September 10, 2016.
Those selected to be part of the volunteer program will need to attend a mandatory training on either Monday, September 19 from 9 – 11 AM or Tuesday, September 20 from 6 – 8 PM.
As Naperville’s only television station, we’re excited to open up this new opportunity for select volunteers to be part of the process of helping us cover the people, places, and perspectives that make Naperville a great place to live!
