Nonprofits provide treats, showcase missions during band concerts in Central Park

-

Every Thursday when the 100-piece Naperville Municipal Band plays at 7:30PM during its outdoor concert season in Central Park, a different nonprofit organization hosts a bake sale of treats and beverages at the gazebo.

With banners, posters and printed hand-outs, organizations also can promote their missions as members mingle with concert-goers. The bake sale on July 28, complete with popcorn and a variety of sweet treats, was hosted by Community Career Center. Members of its board of directors joined staff members to promote their services for job seekers and to tell about their upcoming fundraiser, “Dancing with the Celebrities,” at Meson Sabika on September 21.

Note that nonprofit groups can apply to be part of the lottery drawing early in 2017 when groups are selected to host the bake sales for the summer concert season. Stay tuned.
