Naperville Woman’s Club since 1897

NWC
The Naperville Woman’s Club has attracted women to meet at the Old Stone Church since 1925, empowering them to embrace the arts, appreciate the city’s cultural heritage and share it with the community.

Founded in 1897, the Naperville Woman’s Club (NWC) is among the oldest ongoing organizations in Naperville, now representing “six generations of women whose goal was and is to enrich their community, form friendships and engage in lifelong learning.”

In 1925, the Naperville Woman’s Club purchased the German Evangelical People’s Church building to use as a meeting and gathering space.  The stone building is an example of Gothic Revival, one of the most popular architectural styles for religious structures in the 19th century. Note the rusticated limestone exterior, three-part stained glass front window, and square corner tower.  The interior recently has been remodeled and is now handicap accessible from the parking area at the rear of the building.

In 2011, the Naperville City Council designated the facility as a local Landmark.

The Naperville Woman’s Club Annual Fine Art Fair, the club’s major fundraiser, is held on the second weekend in July to benefit philanthropy and scholarships.
