Learn about old Naperville, and see the new Naperville! This one hour Historic Tour of Naperville blends the past with the present, highlight’s Naperville’s growth, and includes some fun stories! Offered every Friday, departing at 11:00 a.m. during June, July, and August (and special dates/times may be added between September and December). Meet at the ‘Trolley Stop’ on Jackson Ave. at Eagle Street by 10:50 a.m. $15 per person, all ages. Trolley is fully enclosed and will run rain or shine, no refunds. It’s a ‘must do’ while in town! We welcome hardcover/paperback books, CD’s/DVD’s & vinyl. Unloading assistance and tax receipts will be provided. Please NO encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, American Heritage or VHS tapes. Proceeds benefit scholarships, fellowships and other programs supporting women and girls.
A.D.O.P.T.’s Summertime Fun Cookie Walk – 9AM
A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter – 420 Industrial Drive Naperville, IL 60563
Bake sale to benefit the cats and dogs of the Shelter. Our volunteers have baked delicious cookies, bars, brownies and candies for you and your family and friends to enjoy. 100 percent of the sale goes to the homeless animals of the Shelter.
Magical Mini-Garden Fest – 9AM

All fairies, gnomes and miniature garden enthusiasts are invited to The Growing Place Garden Center in Naperville and Aurora to our magical miniature party! The weekend starts at the Naperville store on Saturday, June 4, 9AM-5PM and moves to the Aurora store on Sunday, June 5, 11AM-5PM. Event will be held Saturday in Naperville and Sunday in Aurora. Visit the Fairy Boutique to make a fairy skirt ($3), pick out fairy wings and make a wand ($3) or stop by the Gnome Haberdashery to get your gnome hat and beard (Free)! Face painting at the Fairy Beauty Parlor noon-3PM. Cost: $3 Enjoy tiny treats in the Fairy Tearoom, Cost: Free Go on a fairy and gnome hunt. Find them all and win a prize, Cost: Free Staff will be available all day to help budding mini garden enthusiasts make their very own magical mini garden to take home! Cost: Materials used. Meet a real live fairy and hear her fairy tales! Create fairy bells to hang in your yard. They ring whenever a fairy is near! Cost: $3 Register to win a charming Woodland Fairy house! Caseys Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Its great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.
Barn-NapervilleThe Barn Farewell – 4-9PM | Free
Barn Recreation Center –  Martin Ave. Naperville, IL 60540
The Barn Farewell Event is 4-9PM Sat., June 4. It’s free for all, likely to bring back memories of live bands, dancing teens and evolutionary local lore. The event will include free food for the first 250 guests, catered by Belgio’s, a commemorative cup for the first 500 guests, water and soda, inflatables for kids, raffle prizes and other giveaways. Beginning at 4:15PM and 5:30PM, the first two live bands will perform 45-minute sets from the stage located on the field immediately west of The Barn.  At 6:45PM, OMT will begin rocking with “coverful” and memorable sounds until 9PM. NOTE! A time capsule that was placed 50 years ago in the building will be opened and the contents revealed during the 5-5:30PM band break and then displayed as part of Memory Lane. George Bussey, a Naperville Central High School student in 1965, who helped put the time capsule in place is expected to attend.

Church services in the German language will be held at St. John United Church of Christ at 11:30AM on Sunday, June 5. The service will be led by Pastor Dr. Egon Gerdes, and all are welcome to attend. St. John UCC is located at 1190 Olesen Drive. German services are held on the first Sunday of every month and will continue on July 3 and August 7. For more information, call (630) 355-5208.
