The Club is comprised of local men and women, who want to make a difference in our community. Free Tax Filing for Seniors / Volunteer tax preparers in the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program will provide free tax filing assistance to seniors by appointment only. Appointments are available at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave., on Wednesdays through April 6. Membership in AARP is not required. NRFOV lunchNaperville Responds “Strength and Honor” Lunch / 11:30AM / Join Naperville Responds for Our Veterans as they host their annual “Strength and Honor” Lunch beginning at noon on Wednesday, April 13, to honor and give thanks to Veterans. This year’s featured speaker will be Vietnam Veteran Bob ‘Doc’ Adams. The Lunch will be held at the Embassy Suites in Naperville, 1823 Abriter Ct. An 11:30AM arrival is scheduled with lunch served promptly at noon. The cost is $50 for individuals. Bob Doc Adams is a combat Veteran of Vietnam, having served as a Corpsman with the Second Battalion First Marines in 1968. Along with Gulf War combat veteran Dirk Enger, Bob Cofounded and is the board president and clinical director of the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton. Tickets at www.nrfov.org.

Fox Valley Genealogical Society’s April Meeting / 7:30PM / Debra Dudek will present a program entitled: The Diary of Wesley Peever – A World War I Genealogical Mystery. Find out what happens when a dusty heirloom doesn’t belong in the family. Discover how a Canada Great War diary was lost, found and returned home. Debra will discuss Canadian and American World War I Records as well as other Canadian genealogical resources. The meeting will be held at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

Naperville Women’s Half Marathon and 5K / 7AM / On Sunday, April 24 the City of Naperville will play host to the newest community event for female-only runners of all ability levels with the inaugural Naperville Women’s Half Marathon and 5K. The marathon starts at 7AM and the 5K starts at 7:20AM near North Central College’s Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, East Porter Avenue at South Loomis Street.
