High schools set dates for Orchesis 2016 Dance Showcases

-

Above / School District 204 has set the dates for performances of its 2016 Dance Showcases. Waubonsie Valley Orchesis will kick off the season.

Waubonsie Valley High School will host the Waubonsie Valley Orchesis 2016 Dance Showcase this upcoming weekend, Jan 22-23, to kick off a series of high school orchesis showcases for the season.

The performances begin at 7PM Fri., Jan. 22, and Sat., Jan. 23, in the WVHS Auditorium, located along Eola Road at Route 34.

The showcase features costumed dances in a variety of styles, including jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical and contemporary. Back by popular demand will be the crowd-pleasing senior-parent dance as well as a company partner dance.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Ticket sales begin this week on Jan. 19 during lunch periods and one hour prior to each showcase at the WVHS Box Office.

Neuqua Valley Orchesis

Neuqua Valley Orchesis is slated for 7PM Feb. 4, 5 and 6 in the auditorium.

The performance is primarily student-choreographed and also features guest choreography. There are 18 costumed dances, including jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, tap, and ballet. The senior parent dance and company partner dance are always crowd favorites.

Tickets may be purchased beginning at 6PM before each show at the box office in the auditorium lobby. Ticket price is $5 for students and $12 for adults.

Metea Valley Orchesis

Metea Valley Orchesis is scheduled for 7:30PM on Feb. 12 and 13, also in the school’s auditorium.

Stay tuned for updates when other high schools present their performances in February.

The community is invited to experience these fine performances of the art of dancing.
