Teen’s Taste – Casey’s butcher shop

-

Happy New Year to all of our loyal Positively Naperville readers.

For 2016 and for me, it’s all about keeping it simple and less stress. So this month I decided to write about a simply prepared meal that is mouthwatering good.

The simplicity of it all begins in line at Casey’s Foods extremely friendly meat counter. Casey’s is located at 124 W. Gartner Road. They’re open 8AM to 8PM, Mon. to Fri.; 8AM to 7PM, Sat.; and 9AM to 6PM, Sun.

Casey’s has so many ready-to-cook meats that are all so delicious. For this trip we chose the pinwheel steaks. My mom and Brad ordered the French and I chose the Sicilian. Every ready-to-cook meat you order from Casey’s butcher shop comes with directions on the best way to cook them. Our steaks took approximately 7 minutes per side in the oven broiler.

We accompanied our steak with Casey’s homemade twice-baked potatoes and garlic toast.

The steaks were full of flavor. They were seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of filling which consisted of cheese and sauce. They melted in your mouth.

The twice baked potatoes are the best! They are scooped out the shells, mashed with cream cheese and other cheeses and the skins are filled with the mashed potatoes mixture and baked again! They are very simple and take 20 minutes.

For a simple prepared meal that lets you spend more quality time with your family this year, my suggestion is go on over to Casey’s butcher shop and order you up some grub and tell them Jack that foodie sent ya! Until next month … Happy eating!
