Naperville Men’s Glee Club is set to perform for the holidays

The Naperville Men’s Glee Club is tuning up for two concerts the first weekend in December with musical selections sure to set the stage for a memorable holiday season.

The public is welcome to attend theirĀ “Christmas Presence Advent Concert” on Sat., Dec. 5, followed by “Christmas Presence Young at Heart”on Sun., Dec. 6.

The “Christmas Presence Advent Concert” features expressive, thoughtful music about Christmas performed by the Glee Club, guest soprano Mary Elliott, and The Harmonia String Quartet. The program includes audience favorites such as “O Holy Night”, “Silent Night”, and newer vocal arrangements of traditional Advent music. This concert begins at 7:30PM on Sat., Dec. 5, 2015, in the sanctuary of St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Drive.

The “Christmas Presence Young at Heart” is a one-hour concert of holiday music for all ages which celebrates the joys of the holiday season. The program includes traditional carols sung by the Glee Club and guest soprano Mary Elliott, plus Pharrell Williams’ popular song “Happy”, and a golden anniversary performance of the Christmas novelty song “Fruitcake.” Children in the audience will be invited to the stage to accompany the Glee Club using handheld percussion instruments. This concert begins at 3PM on Sun., Dec. 6, 2015, in the sanctuary of Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane.
