Naperville Gardener – Naperville Garden Club invites you to Cup of Cheer

-

The Naperville Garden Club will host the 2015 Cup of Cheer™ House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea on December 3 and 4.

The House Walk will feature four homes decked out for the holidays. The Holiday Market will sell holiday decorations. And a special Tea will offer home-baked cookies with coffee or tea, served in your new souvenir teacup. This year’s teacup features a cardinal, coincidentally the mascot of North Central College. The Holiday Market and Tea will be held at the White Activities Center on the campus of North Central College at 325 E. Benton Ave.

North Central College provides a home for the President and his family. Built in the mid 1870’s, the mansion has been renovated to fit the needs of a modern family with teenagers while keeping the charm of the 19th century. The mascot of North Central College will be featured in the decorating of this home.

The Krauss home will instill the spirit of the holidays in all who enter. Retired teachers, the couple enjoys staging homes and creating contemporary art. They host many parties and you will get ideas on how to entertain in your own home.

The Martin-Mitchell Mansion is the jewel of Naper Settlement. Built in 1883, the home will be decorated as if it were the pre-WWI era of 1915. This is the era noted in many of the episodes of the TV series Downton Abbey.

The Mayor of Naperville and his wife will welcome you into their home. A traditional home that has undergone extensive renovations, it is transformed into a holiday wonderland by Naperville stores Little Luxuries and Room 363.

Tickets are $35 for Fri., Dec. 4. Purchase tickets at Country Curtains on Main Street, Naperville Bank and Trust on Naper Blvd. just south of Hobson Rd., Nona Jo’s on 5th Ave., The Growing Place on Plank Rd., and both Oxford Bank locations, Rt. 59 and 83rd St. and Book Rd. and 75th.
