During a recent Monday night rehearsal in preparation for their spring concert, the men of the Naperville Chorus donned hand-crafted bow ties created by women in a micro-enterprise in Honduras.
The glistening ties adorned with pop tops were purchased by Garry Nelson via a contact at War Chest Boutique, a place to shop with a purpose for women at risk internationally right in downtown Naperville. Nelson is pictured below with John Zelman, current president of the Naperville Chorus, wearing the specialty bow tie.
The 100-plus members of the Naperville Chorus, men and and nearly twice as many women, will shine in the spotlight when they perform The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass by Carol Barnett beginning at 8PM on Fri., April 24, on stage in the Wentz Hall on the campus of North Central College.
