On September 30, more than 250 District 204 high school students enrolled in marketing courses will be challenged to help Naperville city officials find the right businesses for the available property at Naperville Crossings on the city’s south side.
Following the theme of Mission Impossible, the students will receive their instructions for Mission 60564 at 10 am on September 30 at AMC Showplace 16 at Naperville Crossings. Should they choose to accept the mission, they will spend time this semester developing a marketing plan to present to the city in December.
During the kick-off of Mission 60564, Mayor Pradel will welcome the students and introduce real estate professionals who will lead student teams on a tour of Naperville Crossings before they return to their schools.
Mission 60564 presents students with an authentic marketing opportunity related to attracting retail vendors to the Naperville Crossings development. Students will conduct market research and work to develop a marketing plan to attract businesses to the Naperville location. As a culminating activity, the top teams from Neuqua Valley, Metea Valley and Waubonsie Valley High Schools will present to the Naperville Development Partnership, City Council, Residents Task Force and Business Community. The goal is to have one student team selected to represent the city at an annual retail tradeshow in Chicago.
Mission 60564 is a partnership between the City of Naperville, Indian Prairie School District 204 and the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation, which provided the funds to make this opportunity available to District 204 students.
