This week, e-messages from Superintendent Dan Bridges and Superintendent Kathleen Sullivan were sent to their respective districts.

Here’s to a safe, successful and supportive year of learning for all students, teachers, parents and residents served by the Naperville public and private school community.   —PN

To District 203 Community

For the past three years I have enjoyed the pleasure of visiting each our schools on the first day of school to celebrate the beginning of the year. It is a joy to see everyone so excited to begin a new year of learning – it truly has become one of my favorite events.

Once again I was joined by the president of the Board of Education and the president of the Naperville Unit Education Association. Our annual first-day journey together symbolizes the collective commitment we share to ensure that the Board, Administration, Faculty, and Staff work with you to ensure the best possible school experience for your child.

This year, please join me in celebrating everything that makes our students, staff, and community exemplary. Thank you for your continued support, involvement, and commitment to education and our students.

I look forward to our continued partnership and to celebrating an amazing 2014-2015 school year! #Celebrate203

To District 204 Community

After spending 18 years working in District 204, it is exciting to start this school year in a new seat. I am incredibly honored to be serving as your superintendent. As superintendent, it is my job to keep our district running efficiently and effectively. Although there are many changes happening in education, I’m confident that we will remain a high achieving school district that provides outstanding opportunities to students at all grade levels. With our parents as partners, we will continue to work together to build the best education system for our students.

In my new role, I am eager to hear from you and learn what is most important to you. Beginning this fall, I am starting a Listening Tour with stops at every school. I welcome your active participation in the discussion about education and our school district.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful school year!

Dr. Karen Sullivan
Superintendent of Schools, District 204
