Mo & Mike on the Move – Changing scenes and seasons

-

Well, in April, Mike and I were in Arizona checking out the Prescott area. Its elevation is over 5,000 feet which makes the weather a little better than Phoenix. It has four seasons with the winter being very mild. In fact, this year there was no snow, so people were able to golf all year.

KrolsSince we were there for a couple of days, of course, we drove around to check out the area. Lots of golf courses, but we didn’t have our clubs with us, so that was limiting. But we did explore the roads.

Gentlemen, can I give you a suggestion? When the paved road ends, it is time to turn around!

Of course, Mike believes in going forward, never back. We were on this dirt trail for not five miles, not ten miles, but sixty! And, of course, there were no bathrooms anywhere. I was so happy to see civilization again.

Oh. I also should mention that every road sign—such as “Do not enter when flooded”— was pocked marked with bullet holes. Surely made me feel real safe in the middle of nowhere! But since you can carry guns everywhere in Arizona, I guess I should not have been surprised.

Unfortunately, it’s a two-hour drive from Phoenix where the kids and grand kids are, so we ruled it out as an option for a home someday. Next we headed on our way to Phoenix to see the grandkids. Kobe is still playing baseball on his high school team – we just needed to remember water to drink, a ton of sunscreen and to look for shade.

We’re hoping that spring will have finally arrived in Naperville when we get back for all the May activities. If not, it will be all my fault according to Mike, but what else is new? Some things never change.
