The Art of Connecting – Spring into good health

-

haselhorstStarting off the spring and summer healthy and relaxed should be everyone’s goal. Some of us are better at staying on track than others, but nevertheless. As I write, spring has not sprung quite yet, but I wanted to take the time to talk about a few events in April that will keep you healthy without having to be “out in the sun.”

The Naperville Public Library has partnered with Whole Foods Naperville to present the program Spring Greens. Angela Dennison, the market’s healthy eating specialist, will prepare healthy samples of in-season foods. The program is from 7 to 8:30PM April 9 at Whole Foods, 2607 W. 75th St. To learn about spring produce, sign up for this adults-only program. Seating is limited, and advanced registration is required only through Naperville Public Library. To register, email the names, phone numbers and email addresses of each attendee to marketingintern@naperville-lib.org.

Now that we have our eating habits under control, there is one interesting event that can help us better our wellness and minds. The American Academy of Medical Hypnoanalysts (AAMH) will be hosting a special wellness day at 9AM Thurs., April 24. It will feature AAMH Certified Hypnoanalysts offering presentations on understanding hypnosis and its benefits, learning how to use self-hypnosis, mindfulness meditation, self-hypnosis for willpower – the easiest way to increase your brain’s ability to make healthy decisions, smoking cessation and weight loss using self-hypnosis. This program will be held at the DePaul University Conference Center at 150 West Warrenville Rd. Admission is $85-$115.

These are just two of many health awareness events going on in Naperville.

The arts are good for your soul, too. Here’s hoping you’ll find a number of events that will benefit your wellbeing. For more, visit the new events calendar at events.positivelynaperville.com.

Maybe one day soon we’ll be able to venture out into the sun and get back into our workouts.

For now, happy spring!
