Naperville Woman’s Club Elects New Officers

-

The Naperville Woman’s Club recently elected its officers for the 2012-2013 club year.  The installation ceremony, held during the club’s Annual Meeting at the Naperville Country Club, was conducted by club past president Cassie Kunsch.

The 2012-2013 officers are Julie Cunningham, President; Julie Ulaszek, Membership Vice President; Beatrice Eck, Meetings Vice President; Michelle Young, Communications Vice President; Bonnie Saso, Secretary; and Eileen Drendel, Treasurer.   In the past year, the Naperville Woman’s Club has welcomed 16 new members.

Upcoming events for the club include an Ice Cream Social for the Naperville Municipal Band on July 5 in Central Park, the Naperville Woman’s Club 53rd Annual Juried Fine Art Fair at Naper Settlement on July 14-15, and a fashion show at White Eagle Golf Club on November 3.

Did you know? The Naperville Woman’s Club is a philanthropic organization devoted to supporting the arts, education and community service.  Established in 1897, it is one of the longest established organizations in Naperville.

The club’s headquarters are in the landmark building, The Old Stone Church, at 14 S. Washington Street in downtown Naperville.  The NWC each year puts on the Juried Fine Art Fair at Naper Settlement, a fall fashion show, the Young Adult Art Contest, and several other fund-raising events.

The Naperville Woman’s Club is featured in “Volunteers Welcome,” the Century Walk mural that celebrates seven service clubs depicted high on Van Buren Place facing north on Washington Street above Catch 35.

New members and guests are welcome to attend NWC meetings.  In addition, the clubhouse is available for rentals for private events.  For more information:  www.napervillewomansclub.org or http://www.facebook.com/Napervillewomansclub  or (630) 420-9680.

PN Ombudsman
An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
