Naperville Police respond to battery and disorderly conduct, apprehend offenders

Naperville PoliceAround 4:15PM today (Fri., April 28, 2017)  Naperville Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Raymond Dr. for a dispute between several parties in a parking lot. According to witnesses one subject was armed with a handgun.

Upon officers arrival two subjects fled the area on foot. Efforts were immediately initiated to track them, ultimately resulting in assistance from the Aurora Police K9 unit. Both subjects were apprehended and are in custody. A handgun was recovered.

All parties involved in the incident are accounted for and investigation is ongoing. There is no further risk to the public.

The public is reminded to always stay vigilant to your surroundings and report any suspicious activity or individuals to 911.

The suspects were each charged with Battery and Disorderly Conduct (Both Class A Misdemeanors)

Suspect Information: Demetrius H. Hendricks, a 24-year-old male from Chicago, IL and Xavier M. Boateng, a 23- year-old male from Bolingbrook, IL

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
