KINDERGARTEN – Class of 2030 – ENROLLMENT for 2017-2018

Though it’s only March, it’s time to enroll your Naperville School District “Class of 2030” (kindergarten) student for the 2017-2018 school year!

Kindergarten Previews at our elementary schools are all within the next three weeks!  To find the date for your school: Kindergarten Preview Dates.

Naperville School District 203 policy and the School Code of Illinois require that all students enroll and provide proof of residency. If you have not already done so, please visit District 203’s Centralized Enrollment Office at 203 W. Hillside to enroll your student soon.

The following is required to enroll your kindergarten student.

Proof of Residency within District 203 Boundaries and Enrollment Documents

Documents accepted as proof of residency are posted on the District 203 website, along with the required enrollment forms: Kindergarten 2017-2018 Residency & Enrollment Guidelines.

Birth Certificate

Your child must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2017 to be eligible to enter kindergarten in August 2017. Please bring an official, certified copy of your child’s birth certificate when you enroll.

Hospital certificates will not satisfy this requirement. We will copy and return your original birth certificate to you that day.

Regular office hours for the Centralized Enrollment Office, located at the District 203 Administration Center, 203 W. Hillside Road, Naperville, are Monday thru Friday – 8AM – 4PM.

If you have any questions regarding enrolling your kindergarten student, please contact our Centralized Enrollment Office at 630.548.4320 or Maureen Dvorak, School Services Manager @ mdvorak@naperville203.org or 630.420.6446.

Whether you are a current District 203 family or you are enrolling your first child, we look forward to welcoming you and your kindergarten student for the 2017-2018 school year!

Power of Choice Newsletter

Parents of High School Students: Parents often take becoming independent to mean that their teen must “separate” from them and give in to peer influence. A more realistic, healthy and developmentally appropriate way to view autonomy is to see it as the parent and the teen figuring out together a new relationship which is based on the teen becoming more mature. March’s Power of Choice newsletter looks at ways a parent can help their teens to become more independent.

Learn parenting strategies from The Power of Choice in this month’s conversation. A high school and a middle school parenting expert in the field of substance prevention talk about some parenting steps for guiding adolescents toward increasing independence so they grow into healthy adults. Click on this link to learn more https://soundcloud.com/user-523795201/parenting-adolescents-toward-independence/s-NYmxV

Parents of Middle School Students: An important part of moving our children toward independence is helping them to begin to take control of their lives.  Sometimes, in an effort to protect our children and show them how much we love them, parents can move in and “take control” of our children’s lives. Use this month’s Parents Use Your Power newsletter to guide you.

Adolescence is a time for exploring individuality.  Parents have the responsibility of providing safety and boundaries for their children as they move toward independence. Use this month’s PowerTalk activity  to help your child Move Toward Independence by involving them in the process.
