Nearly 400 people packed Naperville’s new Empire Restaurant on July 7 for a Sneak Peek Benefit for Family Shelter Service.
Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico and his wife, Julie, were on hand with many familiar faces from the community who arrived to share a toast in support of Family Shelter Service.
Mayor Chirico introduced Family Shelter Service Executive Director Judie Caribeaux who graciously commented on the evening’s great success.
“We were really pleased that so many people turned out in support of all the people we help,” said Family Shelter Service Executive Director Judie Caribeaux. “The people we serve live in our own DuPage community and are helping them rebuild their lives after domestic abuse.”
The evening included hometown band Tres Moustaches entertaining partygoers with their artful cover sounds, together with delicious food and drinks, the opportunity to mingle with Chicago sports guests and an exclusive whiskey tasting in Empire’s Whiskey Lounge. Guests also toured the three-level restaurant all the way to the rooftop patio.
Family Shelter Service survivor speakers gave moving presentations about their experiences and thanked the crowd for supporting the organization.
This event was made possible through the generosity of Empire owners Marta Cullen and Phil Cullen, longtime supporters of Family Shelter Service.
