Above / Naperville Police Arrest Chicago man for possession with intent to deliver 500 pounds of cannabis recovered from unincorporated Naperville building.
The Naperville Police Department, with assistance from cooperating agencies, arrested a Chicago resident on Monday, May 2, after locating approximately 500 pounds of cannabis belonging to the man in a building in unincorporated Naperville last week.
Dovydas Diburys, 28, of Chicago, is charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, a Class X Felony, and is currently being held without bond at the Will County Jail.
On April 26, 2016, the Naperville Police Department Special Operations Group was informed that a large amount of cannabis was being stored inside a building located in unincorporated south Naperville. With the assistance of the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad and Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, Naperville Police detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at that location.
Approximately 500 pounds of cannabis with an estimated street value more than $2 million was recovered (pictured). Naperville Police Department Special Operations Group subsequently determined the cannabis belonged to Diburys and learned that he intended to leave the country within the week.
With the assistance of the United States Marshal Service, the detectives located Diburys in Chicago on Monday and took him into custody without incident.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
