Rock star is set to share story during Anderson’s Bookshop event at North Central College

-

Above / Anderson’s Bookshop arranges Naperville visit by rock star Lita Ford on Feb. 25 at Meiley-Swallow Hall.

LivinglikeRunaway-HC-C-Anderson’s Bookshop, Naperville, is delighted to present a special event with Lita Ford, the lead guitarist from the 1970’s all-female band, the Runaways, the group she once starred in with Joan Jett. But today the rock goddess has turned author with her new memoir, Living Like a Runaway. It’s Ford’s story of living her dream as a rocker in a world of men: her ambitions, her persistence and the lessons learned.

Ford will be appearing at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth, on the campus of North Central College, Naperville at 7PM on Thurs., Feb. 25.

Tickets for this special event are required and available exclusively at www.litafordandersons.brownpapertickets.com

PN’s Dr. Music will moderate

Joining Ford onstage will be moderator Scott Itter, music journalist, columnist at Positively Naperville, and founder of the Dr. Music website (DrMusic.org).  Itter will be in conversation with Ford as they discuss some of her stories and insights.

Following their chat, Ford will take a few questions from the audience, then sign books.

Additional questions may be directed to Anderson’s Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave. in downtown Naperville 630-355-2665. Also, find details at www.andersonsbookshop.com.

Brief overview of Living Like a Runaway

In this long-awaited, emotionally powerful memoir,  “heavy metal’s leading female rocker” (Rolling Stone) opens up about the ’70s and ’80s music scene and her trailblazing life as the lead guitarist of the “pioneering band” (New York Times) the Runaways and her platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated solo career. Hailed as “the mother of all metal” (Los Angeles Times) and “one of the greatest female electric guitar players to ever pick up the instrument” (Elle), Lita Ford bares her soul in Living Like a Runaway.

Brief Bio of Lita Ford

Lita Ford is the former lead guitarist of The Runaways, an all-girl hard rock band from Los Angeles in the mid-to-late 1970s, as well as a platinum-selling solo musician. Elle magazine has named her one of the twelve greatest female guitarists. She lives in Hollywood, California.
