Journey with Autism – Looking for the light

-

Our society has moved the face of Christmas and replaced it with a snowflake. The giving is how we define the season’s meaning and retail sales gauge what makes it a successful year.

I have given it a lot of thought and the only ones with the courage to mall boycott frame their argument, handing the blame for the loss of Christmas meaning on life in a place in time when highest goals involve plenty.

I don’t think that’s what they had in mind when the first people thought of the idea to give the ones they love light in the form of a perfect token of their thankful mindfulness that we are here to reflect joy on Earth. Placing a precious present in the hands of those people from the closest part of our lives celebrated and reminded them light given is the meaning of the season.

Perhaps it has grown into an elaborate and increasingly material holiday; however, even with the meaning harder than ever to find, we should not lose our hope.

Look not just for the gift, look high and low for the chance to lift the dimness and light others’ hearts with the greatest gift of all: Love.
