In August, Naperville Responds for Our Veterans presented the 2015 NRFOV Warren L. Dixon, Jr Memorial Scholarship to Naperville North Graduate Jacob “Jake” Bashaw. Bashaw will be attending North Central College this fall, with plans to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology.
Bashaw was voted team captain of the Naperville North Varsity Football Team his senior year and was named DVC All-Conference First Team his junior season.
As captain, Bashaw worked hard to be an example on and off the field, giving 100 percent at all times and encouraging teammates and friends to adhere to the student code of conduct and be good citizens. He has participated in the Big Huskie Little Huskie program as mentor, he has been a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes special events, the Naperville Exchange Club, and Girl Scout Cookie Program.
