Naperville School District 203 is hosting a Welcome to 203 picnic to celebrate the new school year from 4PM to 6PM on Sat., August 29, at Naper Settlement, located at 523 S Webster St.
The event aims to build relationships among families new to the school district with other families and provide information on a wide variety of community resources available. There will be fun, music, and games for children of all ages.
“Naperville 203 believes that an exemplary school district is the result of a collective partnership of students, staff, parents, and community,” said Naperville 203 Superintendent Dan Bridges. “This is an opportunity for those new to our school district to connect with other families in the district while meeting representatives from their child’s school and dozens of community organizations.”
All 22 schools, along with dozens of community organizations such as Loaves & Fishes Community Services, WDSRA, Literacy DuPage and the City of Naperville will have a booth with marketing materials, games and prizes. For each booth a family visits, they will receive a raffle ticket, increasing their chances to win a basket donated by Anderson’s Bookshop, Downtown Naperville, Naper Settlement, Naperville Convention & Visitors Bureau, IndieBound-Naperville and more.
The green spaces on the Settlement grounds will feature activity exhibits from the DuPage Children’s Museum, the Lisle and Naperville Park Districts and the YMCA.
The school district is thankful for the gracious support of our community partners for this event as well as the generous in-kind and financial sponsorship from Naper Settlement, Belgio’s, Marquette Properties and The Rotary Club of Naperville.
The first 1,000 people to arrive at the event will receive a free meal.
