DCM@The Mall Now Open at Westfield Fox Valley Mall – 11AM | Free

DuPage Children’s Museum at The Mall will be open seven days a week. It will be staffed by employees and DCM volunteers. The new location offers free parking and will be a Pay As You Will admission. Visitors will experience DCM on a smaller scale. It will include the well-known and favorite ‘Neighborhoods’ right in our backyard! Exhibits Include: Ramps & Rollers Unit Blocks Creativity Studio Young Explorers Magna-Tiles DCM@TheMallHours Sunday 11AM – 6PM, Monday – Saturday 10AM – 8PM. DCM @ the Mall is conveniently located on the second level of the Westfield Fox Valley Mall, near Carson Pirie Scott. As you come out of Carson Pirie Scott into the mall, walk left.

In conjunction with Belgio’s Catering, the Fish Fries at Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 in Naperville will be held from 5-8PM every Friday night during Lent, beginning Feb. 13 and running through April 3.

Naperville Jaycees Mardi Gras: Bids for Beads Fundraiser – 7:30PM | $45
Get in the New Orleans spirit and help the local community with the Naperville Jaycees Mardi Gras: Bids for Beads fundraiser 7:30PM, Friday, February 27. Party-goers will enjoy Cajun-inspired appetizers, hurricanes and a live music performance by Empty Pockets as they bid on silent and live auction items. As in years past, there is an online auction leading up to the event. NCC presents Theatreworks USA in “Curious George” with two shows at 10AM and 1PM Sat., Feb. 28, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. On Meatball Day, George helps his friend Chef Pisghetti cook some delicious meatballs and serve them to a hungry crowd. Naperville Winter Ale Fest – noon | $15-$45. $15 for Designated Driver $45 for General Admission

The goal of the Naperville Winter Ale Fest is to showcase American Craft Beer while supporting the Naperville Community. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Naperville Parks Foundation. The second annual Naperville Winter Ale Fest will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Situated on the frozen tundra of Naperville’s Frontier Park the festival will feature over 120 unique beers from craft breweries around the country. Pull out your long-johns and parkas, it’s time to experience winter’s best craft beers. Yuks for Youth presents The Improvised Musical. This musical is benefiting the Naperville Education Foundation and will include talents of our own District 203 high school students! The Compass Church is excited to offer a cafe that the community can enjoy that also benefits justice initiatives. Mayor George Pradel will officiate the ribbon cutting ceremony and local leaders will be on hand in support of a caf that gives back.

The Hot Sardines “Speakeasy Nights” – 6PM | $25-$30

The Sardines’ soundwartime Paris via New Orleansis steeped in hot jazz, salty stride piano and the kind of music Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt and Waller used to make: straight-up, foot-stomping jazz. The band’s jazz roots run deep and intertwine with French influences via their frontwoman, ‘Miz Elizabeth’ Bougerol, who was born and raised in Paris. Members of the Sardines collective have worked with genre greats including Rufus Wainwright, Sufjan Stevens, Lauren Ambrose, Nicholas Payton, Kurt Elling, the New York and Jerusalem Philharmonics, Slavic Soul Party and the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra.
