Real News – One part oxygen and then some

-

What travels over 1,000 miles, is contained within the city limits of Naperville, is both a gas and liquid and is the one thing humans (and most other living creatures) cannot live without?

dekruiff_webWater. One part oxygen and two parts hydrogen—my fourth grade teacher would be proud, well, maybe only in that I remembered.

Water is also the one thing that real estate (and business) development cannot live without.

Simply look at the economies of states in the southwestern part of the country. Regions that have access to water thrive, and those without, you guessed it, are deserts.

An adequate amount of usable/drinkable water is the lifeblood of a society. Usable water can be made almost anywhere in the Midwest, so it is the delivery system and purification process that helps kick start an economy, and the values of business and corresponding real estate.

Water for all residents and businesses located in Naperville has been supplied by the City of Naperville since 1904. The water treatment plant is located at 3712 Naperville-Plainfield Rd.

Water is delivered via 650 miles of underground pipe, and 544 miles of pipe returning waste water for treatment.

Brian Quick, a 19-year Naperville resident, Waste Water Field Supervisor, and 34-year veteran with the City of Naperville explains that he and his teammates are the good guys in the fight for clean water.

Brian loves the abundance of opportunities provided residents, business owners and his family in Naperville. He further states that the growth has been spectacular over the years. He can recall when the water treatment plan was in the middle of nowhere.

So take that drink from the fountain or out of the faucet in your kitchen, and try to taste the one part oxygen and the two parts hydrogen.
