City of Naperville presents Garbage and Recycling Services Update

Above / Garbage and Recycling Services for curbside pickup throughout neighborhoods and drop off at Naperville’s Recycling Center at 156 Fort Hill Drive, north of W. Jefferson Ave., will resume this next week with best practices.

Naperville’s curbside garbage/recycling collection and Environmental Collection Campus drop-off services will resume standard operations the week of May 10.

Curbside Garbage and Recycling Collection

Beginning Monday, May 11, the City’s contractor will remove all restrictions that were previously placed on curbside garbage and recycling as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. All curbside services will return to pre-COVID-19 levels except for bulk item collection, which will be limited to one item per week through the month of May.

Service includes bulk items (couches, furniture, etc.), construction material (rolled carpeting, drywall, etc.) or white goods (refrigerators, major appliances, etc.).

Environmental Collection Campus – 156 Fort Hill Drive

The City’s Environmental Collection Campus will also reopen in the coming week. Operations at the recycling, electronics and HHW drop-off centers will return to normal with a few COVID-19-related precautions in place. Residents are encouraged to follow all on-site signage and directions given by staff.

Household Hazardous Waste Facility / Open Saturdays & Sundays, 9AM-2PM

The Household Hazardous Waste facility will resume its pre-COVID-19 operations on Saturday, May 9.

Residents must remain in their vehicles and have the material easily accessible for off-loading by staff.

Electronics Recycling / Open Monday thru Friday, 7AM-3PM

The electronics recycling drop-off center will resume pre-COVIID-19 operations on Monday, May 11.

Residents will be required to stay in their vehicle while staff unload the items for recycling.

Residents can pay in the following ways:
• Online in Advance (PREFERRED) – visit recycle.eworksesi.org/ to pay and be prepared to show a copy of your receipt to the attendant
• Cash On-Site – exact amount only; no change
• Credit Card On-Site – swipe only; no signature required

Recycling / Open Wednesdays & Saturdays, 8AM-4PM

The recycling drop-off center will resume its pre-COVID-19 operations on Wednesday, May 13. An attendant will assist with off-loading materials if the resident is wearing a face covering.
