DuPage Foundation has announced with much appreciation a $150,000 donation from the Birck Family with footprints in Hinsdale and Naperville to the Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund, bringing the fund’s current total to more than $300,000. Contributions from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations will help fuel our local nonprofits that will be impacted by and charged with responding to the repercussions of this emergency.
“Our family is pleased to support the DuPage Foundation and other local charities in addressing the needs of our community during this pandemic,” said Chris Birck of Naperville. “My mom, Kay, was a nurse, so healthcare is a very big part of our lives. This is truly a crisis of historic proportions.”
The Foundation anticipates that the effects of COVID-19 will be significant on the DuPage community. “Donors like the Birck family are making it possible for us to support the not-for-profits whose vulnerable clients will need their services now more than ever,” said Dave McGowan, Foundation President & CEO.
“The Foundation encourages you to continue giving directly to your favorite charities,” added McGowan. “However, if you are unsure where to give, or would like to help fuel multiple organizations affected by this emergency and serving on the front lines to aid our most vulnerable neighbors, please join us in doing a world of good right here in our own backyard, and make a gift to the COVID-19 Response Fund today.”
