Barbershop vocalists from the Chorus of DuPage feel the love of Valentine’s Day every February 14.

That’s when quartets from the Chorus of DuPage deliver “Singing Valentines” throughout Chicago and suburbs to to offices, homes, senior residences, hospitals, businesses and restaurants. Personally performed and delivered, their songs make Valentine’s Day memorable for lovers, family members, friends and employees of all ages.

According to publicist Jerry Broz, every quartet’s heartfelt four-part harmony creates “a Valentine’s gift that is never forgotten or confused with a box of chocolates or bouquet of flowers.”

For 2020, the quartets will be singing throughout the Chicago Metro area from 8AM to 8PM on Fri., Feb. 14.

Broz adds that the quartets that deliver these singing valentines are just as touched by the love, friendship and smiles associated with every delivery as are the recipients.  History shows that these valentines are not entirely sent by men to woman, but there is a large portion sent by woman to their husbands and boyfriends.

Furthermore, enjoyment, smiles and feelings of love are experienced not only by the intended recipients, but by everyone around who can hear the quartets sing. Fellow workers, customers, others at senior residences; plus, other hospital patients, doctors, nurses and visitors enjoy songs, too, Broz says.

Choose from four delivery options, 8AM to 8PM Valentine’s Day

Four delivery options are available from which to choose, including custom, premium, standard and telephone delivery with prices ranging from $25 to $100.

‘Ringing’ Valentines, too!

Special valentines who may live too far away for an in-person delivery, such as students away at college, members in the military or parents at their retirement home out of state, can be accommodated by sending a “ringing” Valentine via telephone.

What’s the Barbershop Harmony Society?

The Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), an international organization of barbershop singers, estimates that each year at least 15,000 Singing Valentines are delivered by about 1,000 different quartets.

Locally, the Chorus of Du Page is one of approximately 700 chapters of the BHS in North America.
