Journey with Autism – Judge less and listen more

-

When will no one on earth palpably feel the naming of their race or gender or religion as the mark of how someone views them? When will life not include problems stemming from making others feel less because they are different?

Is it impossible to live our lives not judging others and let others do their life as they see fit? Why are we still kicking what we observe as something not our style or choice of life, and bringing religion into the conversation as a reason to discriminate or make someone out to be wrong?

Having power is not going over someone’s head and boldly questioning their reasons for living as they do.
People who are oppressed simply do the best they can to survive. To judge this without knowing how much someone suffers is the worst moral flaw in our society.

If today we vow to look more closely in the mirror and less at others, if voices that say things we don’t much understand or feel is true swim into our minds, we must try our best to gain perspective.

I’m guilty of not understanding how others feel. I’ve let my own big issues keep me from seeing life is very hard in this world for many people. In my own home, I’ve missed how much my sister and mother fight each day. And I’m learning I need to judge less and listen more.

I’m simply challenging us all to let others know while we may not ever walk in their shoes, we understand that living is a job and it’s all about finding our best and putting it out into a more than fractured world.
