Original Post / May 20, 2017 / The G.L.O.W. 5K, a run/walk to support the community’s commitment to literacy, fitness and family, returns to brighten Fifth Avenue Station and the event’s route on the evening of Sat., June 3.

Early registration is strongly encouraged for this popular event with a history of selling out in advance. Register at www.nicaricoliteracyfund.org or www.naperglow5k.com.  At the end of the race, participants are invited to stay for the post-5K party including awards, refreshments and live music, organizers said.

“The 16th Annual Jeanine Nicarico 5K G.L.O.W. Run (Give Literacy an Opportunity to Win) is fast approaching,” emailed Pat Nicarico. ” Tom and I with our daughters, Chris and Kathy, and the Run committee thank you… As you know, we had 2,000 participants last year and are anticipating similar numbers again this year.  Due to safety constraints, we are limited to 2,000 runners/walkers.”

Pat Nicarico added that many additional supporters join the festivities for the music, refreshments and fun time held in the spacious parking lot at Fifth Avenue Station.

“We are very pleased that Mayor Pradel will once again be joining us at the starting line to cheer on the runners and walkers,” she added.

Support Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Fund for Literacy

All proceeds go directly to the Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Fund for Literacy to acquire and distribute resources that provide enriched literacy opportunities for the learners within the Naperville Community. Since 1996, the fund has awarded over $400,000 in grants to private and public schools in Naperville Districts 203 and 204, which includes portions of Bolingbrook, Lisle and Aurora. In addition, grants support Little Friends, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation and Project H.E.L.P. in the Naperville community. Additionally, the fund provides annual support to the Jeanine Nicarico DuPage County Children Advocacy Center in Wheaton.
